Hobbies outside of CrossFit:
Past sports/endurance events: Triathlons (Olympic, Sprint), Salinas Valley Half Marathon (2), GoRuck Tough (Santa Cruz and SLO), Spartan (Beast, Super, Sprint in that order), Cycling/Mountain Bike races (Levi's Gran Fondo, Sea Otter Classic, Mt. Baldy cup). Current sports: Mountain Biking, Road cycling, Olympic weightlifting, CrossFit competitions, Rucking, Skateboarding. I still have a longing/curiosity for some form of martial arts.
What advice for someone new or thinking about getting into CF?
It all starts with a commitment to yourself and having a goal with intention. Just show up and the hard part is done. I am here to help you achieve your goal but it takes self commitment to sustain and succeed!
Why do you love coaching CF:
Bridging the gap to a healthier and sustainable lifestyle is the goal for me as a coach and watching individuals achieve personal milestones along the way, make it all the worthwhile. When I witness individuals increase or maybe regain some general physical preparedness, I feel like I’m helping to make his/her lifestyle that much more improved over time. That’s the most rewarding experience for me as a CrossFit coach!
If you could only listen to one song on repeat while working out what would it be?
I had a hard time with this as there are so many songs depending on my mood...but a "I'm Made of Wax, Larry, What Are You Made Of?" by A Day to Remember always gets me rockin.
